Hi I’m Kerry Stubbs, RVN CertVNECC MBVNA
My veterinary career began in 1995 at a small animal practice where I became a student veterinary nurse qualifying in 1999. After moving practices and becoming a head nurse I began training a student nurse, when she qualified in 2003 I followed my other passion and went travelling around the world for a year.
Once back in the UK I worked for several veterinary practices before accepting the role of Senior Nurse within the emergency and critical care sector. During this time, I became a District Senior Nurse running and supporting out-of-hours clinics and the clinical teams within them, spent 3 months working at a practice in India and in 2016 I gained my Certificate in Emergency and Critical Care.

My Story

My Purpose
As a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) with a Certification in Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care (CertVNECC) and a proud member of the British Veterinary Nursing Association (MBVNA), I’ve always been passionate about animal welfare.
I founded Pet Owners First Aid to empower pet owners and pet professionals with essential knowledge and skills that can make all the difference in an emergency.

It was while working within the emergency and critical care clinics I decided to branch out to animal first aid inspired by clients arriving at the clinic with their injured or unwell pets feeling they could have done more, wishing they had recognised the signs earlier or known what to do when the injury occurred. Some pet owners carried guilt for a long time after the event which was another factor pushing me to use my experience and knowledge to educate people who owned or looked after animals enabling them to have the peace of mind that they had done everything they possibly could.
